It was a lazy morning in Jacksonville Florida, and Jess - for now calling himself James - was at the local convenience store getting himself some stuff to wake him up. Vanilla coke, extra spicy beef jerky, pepper jack cheese, and some nutella and almond crackers to satisfy his sweet tooth.
Sonn as he walked back outside to head home though he saw… Some woman with grey skin and candy corn horns? He’d seen a few around, but this one struck him as very different from the other ram-horned ones.
Kanaya never did feel the need to be inconspicuous anymore. For the first sweep or so of her travels, she wandered so secretively through the planets and universes- scurrying away in fright whenever spotted, like a timid mouse. But Earth, over time, had warranted itself skeptical enough of a planet to simply assume she was in costume.
So it was without much of a worry that she strolled through a back route, still keeping small to herself- not making too much of a noise. Not too big a presence. With the breeze brushing her hair from her face, and nudging her dress in it’s currents, she continued.
She’d tracked a tear down to this location. Quite close to a home.
Whilst left to her musings as she walked down the street, she caught sight of somebody- looking her over, curiously. It wasn’t a rare occurrence on Earth nowadays. A man, it seems.
The young woman simply gave him a smile, and a delicate wave of her fingers. A silent greeting, and promise of no-harm.
"Hola… Seems like I am just a complete weirdness magnet, I swear… Can I ask what you’re doin’ here though. I really am curious." And due to his emotional state that southern drawl he hated so much came out, causing him to bite his lip in frustration at himself. Out of habit he fidgeted with his dark mess of curly hair. "Jess- well… Until I’m my usual gender again. James Freeman." Yes. Him… Weirdness magnet indeed. Countries personified, vampires, other things very out of the ordinary. He did associate with them… A lot. In fact his best friend was England personified.
